Zipform Fonts
August 20, 2009
A few members have reported the problem of absent or truncated words in contracts when using the new zipForm 6. The cause has been isolated to missing or corrupted fonts on the user’s computer. According to zipLogix, maker of zipForm: "When a user's machine is missing a font, Windows will replace the needed font with the closest representation. For example, TAR 1601 prints in bold throughout. The user's machine replaced Arial Bold for the missing Arial font. When a replacement is used, there is the possibility of words missing due to the replacement font taking up more space and cutting off when the allocated space in the text box has been reached." It is illegal for a third party, such as zipLogix or TAR, to directly supply Windows fonts to members. Here’s a list of fonts that should be installed on every Windows computer:
• Courier New (TrueType, including Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic variations)
• Arial (TrueType, including Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic variations)
• Times New Roman (TrueType, including Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic variations)
• Symbol (TrueType)
• Wingdings (TrueType)
• MS Serif
• MS Sans Serif
